Tennis and opera don’t have too many overlaps, it has to be said. It’s possible, the world premiere of the full orchestral version of the 2017 opera by the American composer largely known for her film music could have gone very wrong. But give your trust to conductor Marin Alsop and prepare to be utterly convinced.
