CHICAGO, IL (July 12, 2026)
Maestra Alsop and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra opened the Ravinia Festival on July 11, joined by special guests Lizzo, pianist Yunchan Lim, and soprano Janai Brugger.
Writes Eddy “Precise” Lamarre of Rolling Out:

“Chief Conductor Marin Alsop was masterful. Her confidence, control and direction filled the new pavilion as naturally as the music itself. There was something magical about hearing the Chicago Symphony Orchestra inside the renovated space while birds chirped in the background, almost as if nature had decided to join the program.”
