Opening the 2020/21 Season at the Philharmonie de Paris
This fall, Marin Alsop kicks off her 2020/21 concert season with the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Philharmonie de Paris.
On September 9 and 10, Alsop conducts the opening of the 2020/21 concert season at the Philharmonie de Paris. Alsop leads a program featuring the fifth symphony of Shostakovich as well as Beethoven’s Piano Concerto no. 1, performed by Khatia Buniatishvili.
Alsop then returns to Vienna, conducting four concerts with the RSO Vienna on October 9, 16, 21, and 23. Featuring a mix of beloved classics and contemporary compositions, these concerts present works by composers ranging from Schumann and Mahler, to Philipp Maintz and Kaija Saariaho.
