Marin has been named as one of the World Economic Forum’s 2019 Crystal Award recipients. She will be honored at the opening session of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, on January 21.
The Crystal Awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of leading artists and cultural figures whose leadership inspires inclusive and sustainable change.
Main is one of three recipients of the 2019 award, alongside history-making filmmaker Haifaa Al-Mansour and celebrated broadcaster and environmentalist Sir David Attenborough. She will lead the Opening Performance with the Taki Concordia Orchestra. The ceremony will be webcast live at www.weforum.org.
Talking about the award, Marin said: “Attending the WEF in 2006 inspired me to strive to become a more engaged world citizen, and I am deeply honored to return to accept the Crystal Award and share my journey over these past 13 years.”
The 2019 Annual Meeting takes place from January 22-25 under the theme “Globalization 4.0: Shaping a Global Architecture in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution”.
