Marin Alsop brings the BBC Proms to a spectacular close on Saturday September 12 conducting the BBC Singers, BBC Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, tenor Jonas Kaufmann, soprano Daniele de Niese and pianist Benjamin Grosvenor at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
Marin is to be the conductor for this year’s Last Night of the BBC Proms with a star-studded line-up. She will also conduct the Orchestra of Age of Enlightenment in an all-Brahms Prom in September 1.

Marin Alsop has received honorary membership of the Royal Philharmonic Society in recognition of her outstanding services to music. The presentation was made by RPS trustee, composer Colin Matthews, on stage at London’s Royal Albert Hall during the BBC Proms concert on Thursday 4 September.
