Ever wanted the opportunity to be mentored by Marin Alsop and to gain invauable experience conducting some of the world’s most prestigious orchestras around the world? There is still time to apply for the Taki Concordia Conducting Fellowship. Applications for the 2017-19 fellowship term can be submitted until February 1, 2017.
Set up by Marin Alsop, the aim of the Taki Concordia Fellowship is to promote, present, and encourage talented women conductors at the beginning of their careers. The Fellowship is a two-year award that includes six conducting weeks with different orchestras, plus a fundamental exposure to gain experience with marketing, fund-raising, board development and general orchestra management.
To apply, applicants must provide an up-to-date resume and repertoire list, two letters of recommendation, two performance videos featuring contrasting muscial examples, and an informal video made with a hand-held electronic device in which the applicant is requested to address some important questions about herself as a musician and leader.
